Gold Equalities Awarded for Outstanding Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We are proud to announce that our school has been awarded the Gold Equalities Award by EqualiTeach, a national organisation dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
This prestigious award recognises our commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful school environment, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported regardless of their background. It also awards the significant amount of work staff have completed to enrich our curriculum so that it is accessible, students see themselves reflected in their learning, and that it equips students to live in a diverse and global society.
We are particularly proud of student-led projects such as Culture Day and the work of our student leaders such as our Diversity Prefect and Bold Voices Ambassadors. They work to help us create a school culture that celebrates diversity and champions equality.
EqualiTeach describes schools that achieve the Gold Award as "standing as a beacon for others; where the positive impact of best equality and diversity practice is clearly visible." This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our students, staff, and wider school community.
Priya P, our Diversity and Inclusion Prefect, shared insights from recent student discussions: "Overall, when talking to both the student diversity council and the Year 9s, they suggested that the school does significantly well in representing different cultures, sexualities, and faiths.and will continue to make suggestions on how this can be improved further"
We look forward to continuing our efforts to make our school a place where everyone can thrive.
