SCD host a STEM day for Vietnamese Educationalists

The school played host today to 29 visitors from Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training who were here to learn about embedding STEM learning in their schools.

The day began with all the delegates learning about school-based case studies in a session led by Mrs Quinton and Miss Chrystie, a colleague from Bishop Ramsey School. Whilst the teacher-delegates then visited lessons, the educational leaders heard from Dr Valentine and Ms Robins, Head of Sir John Lawes School, about leadership and collaboration. In the afternoon, Leonardo came in to speak about forging business links and the day ended with Yvonne Baker, the National Director of STEM Learning, talking to delegates about the national perspective. A number of students took part in the presentations in the morning or helped show the visitors around the school. Some of the students were interviewed for Vietnamese television and all involved were a credit to the school.

St Clement Danes was delighted to host this high-profile event and pleased to be able to share the superb practice which was so recently recognised by our receipt of the Platinum Science Award.
