SCD awarded Prestigious Music Mark Status

In recognition of St Clement Danes School’s dedication to high quality music education, the school has been awarded the prestigious ‘Music Mark’ school status by The UK Association for Music Education, which is supported by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). This status is awarded to schools who recognise the value of music as part of the curriculum and are actively engaged in improving music education provision within their school community. The school was nominated for the award by the Hertfordshire Music Service/hub.

The charity recognises the hard work and commitment of our staff in providing high quality music education for the students at our school, and the fantastic opportunities that students can access within our music department, including joining the various orchestras, choirs and performing in school productions.

The letter from Bridget Whyte, Chief Executive, said, “Your dedication to offering and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum is both welcomed and celebrated.”

Head of Creative and Expressive Arts Faculty, Miss Stevens commented, “I am proud and delighted that we have been awarded Music Mark. It is a great tribute to our fantastic students and committed faculty staff. ”
