Annie - Opening Night

This week sees the Lower School production of the musical Annie. Casting took place at the start of the year and, since then, around 40 Year 7, 8 and 9 students have been in rehearsal, with drama teacher Mrs Elliot directing. On Monday, students took part in a dress rehearsal and then performed in the afternoon to pupils from Chorleywood Primary and The Russell School to a rapturous reception. Izy Martin, in the lead role, and Maddie Martin, playing Grace, say that taking part has been an ‘amazing experience'. They point out the amount of work Mrs Elliot has put into the production, often coming in for rehearsals ‘when she is not even supposed to be working!’ and praised the attention to detail in the props and staging. ‘Mrs Elliot, Mrs May and Miss Byrne have all been fantastic, helping the cast gel into one big Annie family!’ A gallery of images from the dress rehearsal are available here.

Performances take place tonight, Thursday and Friday in the Drama Studio.  Good luck to all the cast and crew involved!
