Unique opportunity to hear students perform with world class singers!
Don’t miss your chance to see world class singers from the Royal Opera House perform the Verdi Requiem with SCD students at Watford Colosseum tonight, 7.30pm.
Students from Parmiter's School and Tring Choral Society will be performing with St Clement Danes students at this very prestigious event. We are thrilled to have SCD parents English mezzo-soprano Christine Rice and soprano Melissa Alder joining the production.Christine performs world wide at venues including The Royal Opera House, The Bavarian State Opera, The Frankfurt Opera and the Teatro Real. Melissa is a resident singer at the world famous Royal Opera House in London, and the school is privileged that both singers are taking part in this production.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students’ families and friends not only to experience their children performing the Verdi Requiem, but is also a unique opportunity for the local community to hear students perform alongside world class singers. Former student Thomas Isherwood, a successful freelance baritone who has studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and Guildhall School, will be singing bass in the production.Thomas is currently working with the Longborough Festival Opera. The students are delighted to be joined by another SCD parent, David Gwynne- Evans, who sings tenor, and who has achieved success as a soloist with many local choral societies.
