Ted I completes 40-mile challenge for Great Ormond Street Hospital
Over the bank holiday weekend, Year 9 pupil Ted took part in an extraordinary 72-hour endurance challenge, running 40 miles to raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The event, titled "One More Mile," brought together a group of around 20 young people, mostly under the age of 19, to push their physical and mental limits over three days. While Ted originally set himself a target of 20 miles, his determination saw him double that goal, completing 40 miles on foot. The cause holds special significance for the Ingleby family, as Great Ormond Street Hospital previously provided care for Ted’s older sister.
It was a total family and team effort. Ted’s older brother, James, contributed by swimming 580 lengths of the pool, while his father ran over 50 miles. Collectively, the group ran and swam more than 1,300 miles, the equivalent of traversing the length of Great Britain twice, with some individual runners covering up to 150 miles, including running through the night.
The school community is immensely proud of Ted’s remarkable endurance and dedication to such an important charity.
For those who wish to support the Ingleby family and contribute to Great Ormond Street Hospital, donations can still be made through theirfundraising page here.
