Safeguarding is defined as protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of health and/or development, ensuring that children grow up in the provision of safe and effective care and taking action to enable all children to have the best life chances.

In addition to Mr Barrett and Mrs Whiteman, each Head of Year and other key pastoral staff are also able to respond to safeguarding queries in their absence.
If you have a safeguarding concern please phone the school on 01923 284169 or select the Safeguarding option on our Contact Us form. If you have an urgent safeguarding concern outside of school hours please contact Hertfordshire Children Services directly on 0300 123 4043.
You can also call the new NSPCC helpline in response to abuse allegations. The Report Abuse in Education helpline can be reached on 0800 136 663, on Monday to Friday 8am - 10pm, or 9am - 6pm at weekends. It can also be contacted by email at help@nspcc.org.uk
